Everything you need for a seafood paella for two, pan included: just add water and, if you like, some fresh seafood.
Origin
Carmencita is a Spanish house founded in 1923 in Novelda (Alicante) by Jesús Navarro Jover and Carmen Valero. It was the first Spanish company to pack spices in glass jars.
Details
- Contents: 1 enamelled pan, 1 bag of rice (200 g), 1 bottle of extra virgin olive oil (40 ml), 1 sachet of dried stock (25 g)
- Ingredients: rice; extra virgin olive oil; stock: spices (garlic, ñora, onion, paprika, pepper and saffron), salt, natural flavourings (contain crustaceans, fish and shellfish extract), sugar, tomato and colour (curcumin)
- Contains crustaceans and fish. May contain traces of peanut
- Gluten free
How to use it
- Heat 30 ml of the oil in the pan over medium-low heat. For a personal touch, fry a few pieces of squid and some prawns (not included).
- Add the rice (200 g) and stir for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Add the stock (25 g), spread it evenly, pour in 750 ml of warm water and turn up the heat.
- Cook for 10 minutes over medium-high heat, then about 10 more over medium-low heat, until the rice has absorbed the liquid.
The house
Carmencita
The saffron of Novelda, since 1923.
Carmencita was born in Novelda (Alicante) in 1923, founded by Jesús Navarro Jover and his wife Carmen Valero. In early-20th-century Novelda, spices were traded — above all saffron, which arrived from La Mancha to be exported to Asia and Africa.
