A house, a region
In 1932, in the north of the province of Cáceres, the family's ancestors begin milling the olives of their region with stone mills and mat presses. This is the origin of La Chinata.
Now in its fourth generation and still a family business, the house has its headquarters and bottling in Plasencia (Cáceres), in Extremadura. More than ninety years later, the spirit remains the same: an olive oil with character, born of a precise terroir.
The olives come from the north of the province of Cáceres — the comarcas of Sierra de Gata, Las Hurdes, La Vera, the Valle del Jerte and the Valle del Ambroz. Around the olive tree, La Chinata has built a gourmet range and a natural olive-oil-based cosmetics line.
How they work
The flagship variety is the Manzanilla Cacereña, an olive native to northern Cáceres. For its Selection range, the house harvests by hand and cold-presses within 24 hours of picking.
The result: acidity below 0.3 %, over 75 % oleic acid, natural decanting and bottling away from light, in opaque glass.

Why we chose them
A gentle and supple profile, without the marked bitterness or pungency of southern Spanish oils: intense yellow colour with green highlights, a dense aroma of ripe fruit. Ideal raw, over salads, vegetables and fish.
A family house of over 90 years that has turned the olive tree into a whole universe: oil, vinegars, salts and a renowned natural cosmetics line.
